Install
Up and running in a minute.
- Open the disk image
Double-click the downloaded file to open it.
- Drag to Applications
Drag Unicadr onto the Applications folder, then eject the disk image.
- Allow it once
The app is not notarised by Apple yet, so macOS asks the first time. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway. On macOS 14 and earlier, Control-click the app and choose Open.
- Add your folders
Read and accept the terms, then add the folders you want catalogued under Library › Folders › Add folder.
Freeware terms
Free, and honest about it.
The app shows its full terms at first launch and asks you to accept them. In short:
Free to use
Unicadr is freeware: free to download and use, with no account, subscription, trial or ads.
Provided as is
It comes without warranty of any kind and without any obligation to support it, fix problems or keep it updated.
It works on your real files
Consolidation moves and renames files, Find Duplicates and Import can move them to the Bin or delete them, when you choose to.
Results can be wrong
Duplicate detection and metadata can be mistaken. A reference copy or a match score is a suggestion: check before you act.
Back up first
Keep an independent, current backup of everything you point the app at, and never use it on the only copy of anything.
No liability
As far as the law allows, the author is not liable for loss or damage arising from using the app.
Unicadr includes third-party components, tools and models, including ExifTool, libheif, ONNX Runtime and the SSCD copy-detection model, each under its own licence.
