Unicadr · Catalog & Browse
All Media: every catalogued folder in one grid, grouped by capture year and month.

What it does

Point Unicadr at the places your photos and videos live: the Pictures folder, an external drive, a network share, a synced iCloud Drive, OneDrive or Google Drive folder. It walks each one, reads the metadata with a bundled ExifTool, keeps everything in a local catalog and shows it as one library, ordered by when each picture was taken.

How it works

Organised by capture date

All Media is a year and month tree built from the capture date inside each file, not from folder names. Files without one are kept apart under No capture date instead of being guessed.

Search, filter and sort

Search by name, path or camera, show only photos or only videos, sort by date taken and resize the thumbnails as you go. Folders gives you the same grid per catalogued folder.

Every detail in the inspector

Select a file to see its capture time and where that came from, dimensions, camera and lens, exposure settings and GPS position, with the full metadata one click away.

Incremental scans

A rescan only reads files that are new or have changed size or modification time, so refreshing a large library takes moments rather than hours.

Unplugged is not deleted

Files that disappear are flagged as missing, never dropped, so the catalog of a disconnected drive stays browsable until it is back.

Cloud-safe

Online-only placeholders from iCloud, OneDrive and similar services are recognised and catalogued from their file information alone. They are never opened, so a scan cannot start downloading your whole cloud library.
