Find Duplicates
Find every copy, not only the identical ones.

What it does
Years of phones, cameras, imports and backups leave the same picture in several places, often as slightly different files. Find Duplicates compares the whole library, or one folder, and lists groups of duplicates. Each group is led by its reference copy, the one worth keeping, and shows the evidence for every match.
How it works
Find Duplicates never changes a file by itself. Moving to the Bin, deleting and swapping happen only when you choose them, and a swap is undone if any step of it fails.
Three stages of matching
Byte-identical files are found by hashing, look-alikes by five perceptual fingerprints, and a neural copy-detection model has the last word. Every row shows its score and which stage decided it.
More than exact copies
Resized copies, re-compressed JPEGs, colour and filter edits, rotated and mirrored images are recognised. Videos are matched by their poster frame and duration.
Choose the sensitivity
Strict (98 %), Balanced (95 %), Loose (90 %), or Related (75 %) to bring in burst shots and filtered versions.
Compare side by side
Open two copies next to each other with a field-by-field metadata comparison, step through the rest of the group, and make another copy the reference with one click.
Reference and auxiliary folders
Mark an old backup as auxiliary and its copies only win when the library itself lacks the picture. Where the backup holds the better file, swap the two into place without deleting anything.
Your call, always
Nothing happens until you choose. Move the selected duplicates to the Bin or delete them, and save a search to come back to it later.
Good to know
- Exact: BLAKE3 hash of the whole file
- Perceptual: PDQ, pHash, dHash, wavelet and Zernike
- Descriptor: SSCD copy detection, run on your Mac
- Fingerprints are computed once, while scanning
- Filter by exact, similar, images or videos
- Searches can be saved, renamed and reopened
